8th March 2018
To mark International Women's Day we'd like to take a moment to celebrate the talented, diverse women in Dixons team. Our team share 26 children between them as well as multitude of University and professional qualifications.
Geraldine Dixon has been Company Secretary since our incorporation and has been a key influence since Dixons formation in 1979. Julie O’Hagan, daughter of founder member Daniel Dixon Snr, joined Dixons team in 2004 as Office Manager before being promoted to HR Director in 2013. Julie’s team includes Emer Hegarty, a student from University of Ulster who is carrying out her work placement as HR Assistant. Also reporting to Julie are our Office Administrators Bronagh O’Kane and Paula McMullan who look after travel bookings, customer calls and document management.
Our Business Development team is led by Dr Eleanor Forrest Reid CMIOSH who joined Dixons in 2007, initially as IMS Manager, before being appointed Business Development Manager in 2014. Her team includes Wendy Armstrong (HSE Manager), a professionally qualified Civil Engineer and NEBOSH Diploma holder; graduate Dana Dixon (Bid Manager) who started as bid writer in 2008 and NEBOSH certificate holder Maria O’Kane (SHEQ Advisor).
In our QS/Estimating team, Quantity Surveyor Bernie Martin joined our team following graduation in 2012 after having carried out her work placement with Dixons; and Sarah Kearney also a graduate QS strengthened our team in 2017, bringing with her 9 years industry experience. Joanne O’Boyle originally joined Dixons as an Admin officer and is now being developed as a Trainee Estimator.
Our Finance Manager Kathy Elliott joined our team in 2005 and achieved MIATI status in 2011. She is ably supported by her team of Accounts Clerks Laura Cassley, Laura Casey and Maggie Laverty who manage accounts payable and wages for Dixons.
Our Planned Maintenance team, who deliver the NIHE framework and other contracts, include Contracts Managers Alison Mawhinney and Marie Fallon O’Kane who joined Dixons in 2015 and 2016 respectively, bringing with them a wealth of experience. The Planned Maintenance team is supported by our Noelle Watterson who joined Dixons in 2007 who manages documentation and customer liaison for all contracts.
We support flexible working and promote and develop from within our team wherever possible. We are proud to support International Women’s Day 2018.
