Orra View Drive wins award

19th December 2017

Earlier this year, Primary 6 and 7 pupils from St Joseph’s Primary school entered a competition to name a social housing development that we are building in Dunloy, County Antrim. The entries were shortlisted by our Client Clanmil Developments and the architects Studio Rogers, then submitted to Causeway Coast & Glens Council for final selection and approval.

Causeway Coast & Glens Council chose the name ‘Orra View Drive’ which had been proposed by Caolan McFerran. As the winner, Caolan was presented an Apple iPad on behalf of Dixons Contractors by our Contracts Manager Ciaran Richmond. The 5 runners up were awarded with generous gift vouchers from Smyth’s toy shop by Studio Rogers architects.

Dixons were delighted with the quality of the entries and would like to congratulate all pupils that submitted an entry. We believe that Orra View Drive creates a legacy for Caolan within his home village and we hope that it ignites interest in the construction industry for both the pupils and the wider community. Our site team will hand over the completed homes to Clanmil Developments in February 2018.
